SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Dragan Beocanin is an experienced IT professional with over 12 years in the IT
industry.
His current position is a System Consultant with Westpac Financial Services (WFS).
Dragan is working in the WFS Retail Software Development business unit on development,
maintenance and support of the existing Superannuation and Life Insurance System (CLOAS)
used in Westpac. It is a MVS Cobol application accessing IMS database. Front end is a
Windows application developed in DELPHI, accessing mainframe and IMS database via SNA
and CICS/Cobol transactions. At the same time it accesses MS SQL Server (replicated
Control Records) and Interbase local database. Dragan had a major role in redesign of
the existing front end interface and development of new modules with additional
functionality. Latest development included Multi Tier (MTS) Web application exposing
some of the policy inquiring to the Intranet and potentially Internet.
For over three years Dragan was working with Computer Sciences Corporation
Australia Pty. Ltd. in the capacity of the senior technical staff on development,
maintenance and support of three Hospital Patient Administration and Billing Systems
(MPAS/HOSPAS for patient administration, MBIL/HOSBIL for patient billing and MCLIN
Dental and Speech Pathology Microcomputer Clinical system) used in public hospitals
in NSW. MPAS and MBIL are Windows/DOS applications with some modules developed in
DELPHI, Sybase, Btrieve, Crystal Reports, others in C, Btrieve and C-Worthy. HOSPAS
and HOSBIL are equivalents of MPAS and MBIL developed in Cobol on the VAX mainframe.
MCLIN is a DOS application developed in Paradox PAL language.
Dragan was working for over three months with EDUCOM Australia Pty. Ltd. He
worked on development, maintenance and support of Data Record Management
Software used in large organisations in Australia and US. Some modules have been
developed in DELPHI, other in C++. It is highly Object Oriented, Client/Server,
Platform Independent (Sybase, Oracle, Watcom) application.
Dragan was working for eight months with Centretech Computer Products Pty. Ltd.
He completed a number of projects converting systems from C to DELPHI and developing
new systems using DELPHI and C in the area of Data Record Management, Education
Software, Freight Tracking Software, Image Handling.
Dragan had over six years overseas experience.
He was working for over three years as an Analyst/Programmer and Designer of
Information Systems with A&D Trade, Sremska Mitrovica, Yugoslavia, where he
gained solid experience developing Financial and Accounting Systems using C/C++,
Clipper and Pascal.
For over three years Dragan was working as a Research Assistant/Lecturer with
Computer Science Department of Military Technical Academy, Zagreb, Yugoslavia,
where he gained strong theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of the
Programming Languages, Theory of Programming, Designing of the Information Systems,
